Bioprospecção e Prospecção Química como alternativa sustentável para descoberta de novos fármacos na Amazônia

Resumo

The incidence of fungal diseases is alarmingly widespread in all parts of the world, whether they are superficial infections or, more worryingly, invasive systemic infections. Superficial fungal infections are those that affect the skin, keratinous tissue and mucous membranes; are quite common and affect 20 to 25% of the world population, and the projection for the coming years is that this number will increase. The pathogens most frequently observed in invasive fungal infections belong to the four genera: Candida, Cryptococcus, Aspergillus and Pneumocystis. The search for antifungal drugs increasingly stands out within a scenario with few candidates for use. With this scenario, a path is opened for sustainable biotechnological development through the use of the bioprospecting tool. In an attempt to achieve the objective of bioprospecting, there has been an increase in investigations of natural products as possible sources, not yet studied, of bioactive compounds and molecules. In addition to research on natural products, those of synthetic origin are still being investigated, where natural compounds are used as a basis for study, or chemical compounds capable of acting in a specific biotechnological function, previously studied, are synthesized. This research will describe the performance of a Bioprospection of fungi extracted from beetle intestines and Chemical Prospecting as well as Evaluating the Bioprospecting Scenario in the Amazonian context
