Resumo
The dengue infections are the major public health problems in the world, including Brazil, geographically located in the tropical area, recognized as prevalent for the disease incidence. Besides the location of the region, there are other determinants and constraints to dengue infection, beyond socio-economic changes and the local microclimate. This study aims at describing the distribution of dengue cases, socioeconomic and environmental conditions, realized in the neighborhoods of the urban area of the city of Manaus during 2000-2010. With use of the software Quantum GIS and Terraview to produce thematic maps and identification of spatial clusters and the R Statistical Package for temporal analysis by Pearson correlation. Comparing the maps of dengue cases, Infestation Index vector (IIP), per capita income and temperature mean was not possible to verify the proportional relationship between these variables except mean temperature. The clusters and outliers identified was varied, however, the areas of high priority tended to remain in the extension of neighborhoods where increased dengue cases showed tendency. In temporal analysis, the correlations were weak, however, positive with rainfall and relative humidity, and negative cases with mean temperature. In conclusion, the spatial and temporal distribution of dengue in Manaus was heterogeneous, it was not possible to associate environmental aspects in dengue cases, this occurs in a way that has not been shown to be influenced by per capita income or index vector infestation, only mean temperature proved to be influential.
