Caracterização morfológica e morfométrica de três espécies cripticas e dendrófilas de Lutzomyia (Psathyromyia) Barretto, 1962 (Díptera, Psychodidae, Phlebotominae) da Amazônia central

Abstract

Phlebotomine sand flies (Diptera: Psychodidae) of the genus Lutzomyia França, and subgenus Psathyromyia Barretto, have importance in public health because they are vectors of several etiological agents, among we highlight the arboviruses as the vesicular stomatitis virus and several trypanosomatid flagellates (Kinetoplastidae, Tripanosomatidae) L. (Psathyromyia) dendrophyla Mangabeira-Filho is a susceptible species to infection Leishmania amazonensis Lainson and L. shannoni Dyar was incriminated as vector of the vesicular stomatitis virus. This study was divided in four chapters, where were used in wing geometric morphometrics, scanning electron microscopy, and also details about life cycle on laboratory conditions three cryptic and species of subgenus Psathyromyia. The life cycles of L. scaffi Damasceno & Arouck and L. shannoni, were found similar from the egg’s emergence to the adult’s emergency. The egg exochorion was analyzed of the species showed differences on the polygonal ornamentation arrangement. Studies in the larval morphological characters were done. It were observed differences between the larval chaetotaxy among the studied species and antennae and spiracles. Pupas also presented differences on cefalothorax setae; defined by the wings conformation and other phenotypic differentiation the genital atrium ornaments of the furca divided these species in different groups. The wing geometric morphometrics used in L. scaffi, L. dendrophyla and L. shannoni females. This study provided important taxonomic information on three cryptic species of Psathyromyia subgenus and have veterinary medical importance.
