Violência sexual contra mulheres: repercussões psicossociais após dois anos da agressão

Abstract

The present research carried out under the PPGPSI-Master in Psychology / UFAM, aimed to understand the psychosocial repercussions of sexual violence after two years of the aggression suffered by adult women of a Service of Assistance to Victims of Sexual Violence - SAVVIS of the city of Manaus. It is believed that the results of this research helped in the discussion about the issue of sexual violence against women and the medium-term psychosocial repercussions of this type of violence, which could contribute to minimize the gaps in the studies on the subject and guide future research. To that end, the concept used of sexual violence encompassed all types of sexual aggressions with physical contact. The theoretical perspective was based on the concept of social support in coping with sexual violence to understand the psychosocial repercussions. It was a descriptive qualitative research, where the data were obtained through semi-structured interviews with five adult women, aged 18 years or more at the time of the violence, who were followed up at SAVVIS for a minimum period of six months and that the period of at least twenty-four months of the episode of sexual violence had elapsed. Data analysis was performed through the content analysis method, through the organization of thematic categories (BARDIN, 2009). Through this instrument it was possible to describe the impact of sexual violence on the daily social activities of women victims based on their perceptions; characterize the changes in the social support of women victims and identify how they currently deal with the violence suffered. We concluded that the psychological and social damage remained in the lives of women victims of sexual violence, even after two years of the occurrence of the aggression.
