O trabalho de mulheres produtoras rurais na Associação Comunitária Agrícola Unificada Francisca Mendes e Lago do Sucuriju-ACAUFLAJU, município de Rio Preto da Eva-AM e seus reflexos na conservação ambiental

Abstract

This article discusses the presence of women in agriculture, mainly at areas of planting, harvesting and marketing of these products in solid ground. It’s purpose is to get in knowledge about the work made by rural women producers in Associação Francisca Mendes and Lago do Sucuriju (a county at Rio Preto da Eva – Amazonas), and it’s impacts on Environmental Conservation. This search has as specific purposes: identify agricultural production processes at Associação Francisca Mendes and Lago do Sucuriju – ACAUFLAJU and the social agents involved on the process; highlight the characteristics of job and monetary income generated by rural women producers and verify the actions of rural women workers in Environmental Conservation of their own productive units. Our method is based on the theoretical contribution of dialectical materialism combined to content analysis. Those who had participated on this research were women involved in agricultural production in communities. Since, in order to achieve the proposed objectives, it was necessary to highlight, based on speeches of these women, their own knowledge as rural workers, as well as their involvement in decision-making about the production process and the community. We had as hypothesis the idea that the job of these women is a sine qua non condition to guarantee and promote sustainable actions, aiming at the well-being of the entire community. Interviews were made by a script of questions, by the application of forms, systematic observations and uses of photographies. The differents techniques and data collection instruments allowed a better reach of the theme to be researched, obtaining better results and investigations on the subject. The analysis categories of this research are centered on work, social gender relations and Environmental Conservation. For a better understanding of these categories, bibliographic surveys were carried out in books, articles, dissertations and theses on these themes. The data were investigated based on quantitative and qualitative approach, in order to obtain greater breadth and corroboration of results. The content analysis allowed, based on the individual speeches, to understand the meanings and signifiers of the productive processes, the involvement of women, the productive practices and the community's environmental conservation strategies in the Amazonian context.
