Resumo
The project engineering department of a company is seen as a strategic part of its
structure, this is due to its characteristic of being able to participate in decisions
regarding the company's future, as it is directly involved in contributions related to new
processes, products or maintenance of the operation of this company. For this reason,
it is important to constantly seek to optimize project management, to reduce waste,
avoid delays and apply available resources correctly, seeking to extract the best
possible result for the company. This work aimed to propose the use of a methodology
(scrumbanfall) based on existing models, in order to obtain a project management
format adapted to an environment of multiple simultaneous projects. For this, the
specific objectives of the research were guided by mapping of activities within the
department, the carrying out of a survey of good practices within existing
methodologies and the combination of these good practices in a method adapted to
the environment in which the study was carried out. As for the methodology, this
research is observed through the prism of a field research, with qualitative-quantitative
research strategies and was promoted through a case study carried out within a
company in the industrial center of Manaus. Based on the history of 25 projects
completed between 2019 and 2020, it was possible to assemble a comparison
database and map the opportunities for improvement in management processes in the
research environment before applying the methodology. As for the results, the study
presented solutions for the 9 opportunities for improvement found, the main
improvement being related to significant impacts in the management of project
schedules, achieving the reduction of delays both in the delivery of the completed
project and in the stages that comprise it, this reduction was observed by evaluating
the adherence of projects to the schedule after applying the methodology. In addition
to these results, this research collaborates with academia by presenting the application
of a management methodology little discussed in other researches, thus expanding
the knowledge about the application of this model in an environment different from the
researches already proposed. Furthermore, the study presents ideas of easy
reapplication and can be used by the company in managing multiple simultaneous
projects in different scenarios
