Resumo
Agroforestry systems (SAFs) are agricultural systems that combine the planting of diversified trees using traditional cropping practices in areas known as "várzeas". This type of system has been used by peasants in the Amazon region for centuries. Recent research has shown that it can be a sustainable and effective approach to farming. In this wake, the objective is to analyze the socio-productive dynamics of the Agroforestry Systems as a productive activity in the municipalities (Careiro da Várzea and Manacapuru). The methodology that was equated was application of forms with objective and subjective questions to the peasants, whose subjects to the characteristics of the specificities of the families, of the properties, of the commercialization of the agricultural products and of the SAFs. SAFs have their ecological benefits, as studies have shown that these systems can improve soil quality, contributing to biodiversity. And thus mitigating the effects of climate change. Trees grown in floodplain agroforestry systems can also provide shade and prevent erosion, bringing significant ecological benefits. Research in agroforestry systems has shown relative benefits, such as economic and social, where the peasantry, or peasant agriculture, are tools for the varzea economies, oxygenating social and cultural reproduction. AFSs can provide additional income streams for farmers through the sale of fruits and other products. These systems can also help promote food security, as the combination of crops and trees can provide diverse and sustainable sources of food. The SAFs and the peasantry represent a unique and sustainable approach to agriculture. Finally, the ecological, economic and social benefits of these systems can be considered a more sustainable and equitable global food system.
