Figuração e sublimação: indivíduo e sociedade em Elias e Freud

Resumo

Investigating the relationship between individual and society has always become a fundamental problem of the constitution of sociology as science, while an endless number of classical and contemporary authors have undertaken their efforts to understand the dynamics of these atoms. While on the one hand the theory of social systems canonized in the twentieth century seemed to have come to a term, innovations brought by the sociologist Norbert Elias rekindled the debate, bringing as a background concepts and psychic instances to attribute to society and the individual reciprocal relations within the social game. Through this study, it will be presented that the clash between theorists was influenced by Freudian psychoanalysis, and how these contributions were absorbed in the civilizational studies of the Western society.
