Violência contra mulheres indígenas Macuxi: de experiências narradas a soluções coletivo

Abstract

This study addresses the theme of violence against indigenous women based on interviews conducted in the Surumu Region, in the Raposa Serra do Sol Indigenous Land, Pacaraima municipality, in the state of Roraima. The central objective is to understand how the Macuxi women from the Surumu region conceive the practices of violence against women based on their own narratives about situations experienced by them or by other women in their community and on their trajectories in the context of indigenist politics and public policies in Brazil. To deal and overcome the aggression experiences suffered by the Macuxi women in their daily life, the legal systems from the Brazilian state and from the indigenous people have been articulated towards conflicts resolution and the theme of violence has been incorporated as political agenda of the indigenous women movement in Roraima.
