Fatores que contribuem para o desmame precoce: uma revisão sistemática de teses e dissertações disponíveis em Biblioteca Digital Brasileira

Abstract

Objective: To carry out a systematic review of the latest studies on early weaning in the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations aiming to identify factors that lead to the early interruption of breastfeeding. Methods: The advanced BDBTD search, refining the occurrences of the keywords “early weaning” only in the title of each work. The time period considered was from 2015 to 2020. Results: Three doctoral theses and nine master's dissertations were found. After the first analysis, mini studies were excluded because they were not performed whit human beings, that leaving four studies that met the inclusion criteria, considering the objectives of this sdudy. The analysis indicated twenty-six main factors which were brought together under three groups: factors related to the mother, factors related to the baby, and factors related to the support group. Final Considerations: The review achieved the objectives responding to the research problem and can be useful in conducting further investigations.
