Resumo

Access to social security by collectors of recyclable materials is one of the main demands of these workers, but also represents a necessity for the advancement and implementation of social security policy, although it is a step forward, insofar as social rights are concerned Is restrictive, since it is a policy that has the contribution as a basis of access. Emphasize the contribution of the taster's work in the contemporary context, placing its importance on the socio-environmental issue and the aggravation of the solid waste problem, and the transformations in the world of work that contributed to the emergence of such a large contingent of workers, without Alternative, who saw a way of survival as a way of survival, but, even though they are relevant to society, they are on the margins of social security protection. The objective of the study was to analyze socio-environmental sustainability in the work of collectors of recyclable materials and access to social security in the city of Manaus, in order to strengthen the discussion and discussion of the insertion of collectors of recyclable materials as special insured in the scope of Social security policy. The methodological procedures were based on the perspective of critical social theory based on dialectical historical materialism and it is a case study, making it possible to approximate the reality of collectors of recyclable materials, their working conditions and access to social security. The study included two associations of ASCAFIGUAM and ECORECICLA scavengers, both located in the city of Manaus, with the participation of 16 informants who provided data through the application of interviews and research forms, however, visits were made to workplaces and domiciles, As informal conversations that enriched the research. The result of the research made it possible to reaffirm the great contribution of collectors of recyclable materials in face of the confrontation of the socioenvironmental question and the neglect of public power with the class that performs its work in a precarious way and without labor and social protection. In this way, it is inferred that the claim of the National Collectors Movement, which foresees that these are inserted as special insured, is not only legally viable, financially possible, as it would represent a step towards the universalization of Social Security and would recover the debt that all Society with these workers, granting them the right to citizenship.
