Potencialidades biotecnológicas de microalgas no Amazonas

Resumo

On the world stage, the search for alternative food sources and concern for the environment have become current concerns, making the cultivation of highly efficient microalgae a possibility, as it covers both the nutraceutical and environmental aspects. This work aims to analyze the biotechnological potential and possible commercial circuits of microalgae in the state of Amazonas. The methodology adopted is based on bibliographical research (2014-2020) that involves the state of the art of the subject, covering studies already carried out and future perspectives, characterization of species, occurrence, cultivation, existing markets, derivatives, uses, potential and investigation with subjects who direct to the microalgae market in Manaus. The expected results are based on an updated review of the entire potential of microalgae in Amazonas in comparison to Brazil and the world, with the expectation of projecting a biotechnology management system with biotechnological potential and large-scale production of Amazonian microalgal biomass products. The relevance of the market, its production chain, as well as the potential of microalgae in the Manaus market were highlighted, as well as the actions that can be developed in the future in conjunction with research institutions.
