Resumo

Amazon is one of the states of the Federation which houses significant ethnic diversity, according to the National Indian Foundation (FUNAI) and Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). For these institutions more than half of Brazil's indigenous population is located in the Northeast and North, particularly in the Legal Amazon region. Before the civilizing process predominated in the various ethnic groups of the Amazon, a breakthrough in detribalization of most indigenous peoples, but through the extermination by the overwhelming share of the conquerors, committed to the exploitation of the wealth and knowledge of the Indians. Detribalization this context is what will emerge the figure of the urban Indian, who fleeing from death and also in demand in quality of life, due to the urban life, just migrating to the city. In this context, it is clear the goal of this work: to conduct a social radiography on the occupation of urban areas by indigenous peoples from the Community ACNI, noting the social impacts for both the Indians and for the own city of Manaus. Therefore, some questions guided the research: how can we understand, from a historical analysis and the current situation, the reality of urban indigenous in the context of the city of Manaus? How can we understand the process of occupation in the occupation Community ACNI in the city Manaus? And how can we characterize the social aspects of Community ACNI occupation? It is pertinent to reiterate that when we look at the city of Manaus, there are many examples of areas inhabited by indigenous peoples, however, the occupation of urban Newest indigenous populations in the city of Manaus is the Community X, located in the neighborhood of Tarumã , North Zone of the capital of Amazonas, which was being studied, as already explained in the questions that guided this study. Is justified, then the realization of this research, since the reality of the indigenous peoples of the Amazon is a reflection of the various economic cycles deployed in this region of Brazil and today many indigenous ethnic groups inhabit the city of Manaus, among which, highlight the Cocamas, the Muras, the Cambebas the Manáos the SateréMawés the WaimiriWatroaris, Tupinambás the Kambebas the Tukanos, the Bares among others scattered and organized in different districts of the city. Regarding research methodology, the study observed the characteristics of Ethnographic Research, understanding that their wealth is not only in the academic formality, but in living with the object studied. From the ethnography research will obey the qualitative research characteristics and, like any academic and scientific study, this study could not be achieved without going through the literature and, in a particular way for desk research. The theoretical framework that will guide the study followed the authors dealing with indigenous issues in Brazil and specifically in the Amazon, besides those dealing with the urban Indian question. Finally, it was intended, with this research, contribute to the increase of discussions on this new Indian reality, the urban Indian as one of the ways to make these individuals are respected in the city, with all their individualities and thus able to exercise all their rights and duties of a social citizen now urban.
