Estratégias de conservação na comunidade Novo Remanso (Itacoatiara, Amazonas, Brasil): resiliência e reprodução social nos agroecossistemas

Abstract

Observing the scenario of population growth in the Amazon region and its potential for sustainability in local production systems, the need for studies arose to verify the contributions of these farmers in the conservation of agroecosystems. Based on this context, this study analyzed the conservation strategies developed by family farmers from the Novo Remanso Community, located in the municipality of Itacoatiara, in the state of Amazonas. To achieve the research objectives, several data collection strategies were needed, such as open interviews, forms and mind maps, as well as an agricultural calendar, seasonal calendar and the conservation strategy matrix that serves to identify the conservation strategies created by farmers. , ending with a discussion of the elements pointed out by peasant environmental knowledge, especially with regard to the maintenance of autopoiesis in agroecosystems. Thus, the present study brings relevant information about conservation practices, how they can serve as a strategy to reduce the negative impacts on production areas, caused by the conventional agriculture model, contributing to sustainability in the Amazon region. In view of this, research such as these will contribute to the understanding of the local agriculture system, helping in the search for actions and public policies to enhance the bases of environmental sustainability in the region.
