As mulheres ceramistas do mocambo: a arte de viver de artefatos ambientais

Abstract

This work aims the observation uppon the work and the in the everyday life of the pan makers women of Mocambo do Arari, in Parintins, Amazonas State. As goals to be developed, I intended to analyse their work, their way of life, sociability and their social recognition in the environment of this rural community inside Amazonas. Thus, the clay craft is recognized as an aesthetical sensitizer of a self recognition to these women. It is a qualitative research with ethnographical approach, in which, they, as recallers and as characters, build their experiences, make their work, turning their achievements visible, so that we can understand them: who they were, who they are, how they live and survive. During the research process, we´ve brought voice to seventeen pan makers women in the São Tomé communities and in Vila de São João. A key point conducted the whole investigation process: the craft work gives them their own identity and makes changes in their life conditions by their modelling and the environmental organization. Therefore, they are part of the historicity and of the environmental culture of this hidden place called Mocambo do Arari in Parintins-AM.
