Empreendedorismo, inovação e propriedade intelectual entre os universitários da cidade de Manaus

Abstract

Innovation and intellectual property are elements that are gaining prominence in the area of socioeconomic development as technological innovation occupies a prominent place in the competitiveness between countries operating in a globalized scenario. In this context, companies increasingly demand more professionals with specific knowledge in these areas. For students looking to stand out in the job market, it is essential to have an in-depth understanding of these topics. Furthermore, developing entrepreneurial skills not only benefits companies, but can also positively influence the professional trajectory of college students. Based on this premise, this work has the general objective of evaluating the knowledge of higher education students, regarding the topic of Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Intellectual Property. This is an exploratory and descriptive study, with a qualitative and quantitative approach and of a mixed nature. Initially, a systematic review of the literature was carried out, using CAPES journals as a source of data for a comparative study. Next, an online questionnaire was administered using the "Google Forms" tool to students from public and private universities in Manaus, in the second semester of 2023, with the aim of evaluating their knowledge on the topic. The results obtained corroborate the initial perception that university students still lack education more focused on intellectual property, innovation and entrepreneurship. Despite recognizing the importance of these topics, students demonstrated a limited understanding of them, in line with results observed in other regions of Brazil and other countries. It is concluded, therefore, that it is necessary to implement improvements in the teaching of these concepts in Manaus, a challenge that requires the collaboration of academics, teachers and educational institutions.
