Background: The knowledge of the target public and their desires is of paramount importance for the creation of guidelines and measures in order to provide greater satisfaction and, consequently, customer loyalty. Several measures of product quality or service have already been proposed, always considering a specific aspect of the final product or its production line. Objectives: To analyze the relationship between the degree of satisfaction and the epidemiological profile of orthopedic patients; to identify socio-demographic variables of the patients treated in the orthopedic ward; to identify the level of satisfaction of the patients treated in the orthopedic ward; correlate the various epidemiological profiles and some clinical variables with the respective satisfaction indexes from february to june of 2018. Method: In order to do so, it did seek to establish the epidemiological, socio-cultural and demographic profile of the users, and subsequently correlated with the respective satisfaction indexes obtained through a self-generated questionnaire based on RAND's Short-Form Patient Satisfaction Questionnaire (PSQ SF-18) CORPORATION. All patients hospitalized in the orthopedic clinic for surgical treatment who accept the terms of this research was admitted to the study, excluding those who for any reason were not able to understand those terms. The results were submitted to a statistical analysis aiming at a confidence interval of 95%, which allowed to draw a reliable epidemiological profile of the users of the orthopedic clinic of the FHAJ, to try to determine which were the main determinants for patient satisfaction.Results: Studied variables were not able to significantly change the perception of satisfaction in the population studied, with the overall satisfaction index reaching an average of more than four on a scale of one to five. Conclusions: The degree of general satisfaction found did not correlate with the epidemiological profile of the patients studied.
