Identificação da ictiofauna e da macrofauna bentônica da lagoa do Areal, Parintins/AM

Abstract

The area known as Areal is located in the municipality of Parintins/AM, according to Chapter IV of the Environmental Code of the Municipality of Parintins (LAW No. 387/2006-PGMP), defined in Session V, Art. 37 as special control zones. This research is justified by the lack of information on the ichthyofauna and benthic macrofauna in the Areal lagoon, and research to understand the local and regional biota can enable diagnostic and species management programs in the area. The organisms were collected over a period of one year (October 2022 to September 2023). The equipment used to catch the aquatic organisms was: pincers, made at LAqua/ICSEZ. Collections were made from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., totaling 3:30 hours of catching. The organisms were placed in glass containers and fixed in 70% alcohol to preserve them. The data obtained on the species of fish and benthic macroinvertebrates found were correlated with the environmental variables, using the descriptive method to analyze them. The data was also analyzed using the Shannon-Weaver diversity index (H') and the Berger-Parker dominance index was also used for the dominant species. A total of 1,017 fish were collected and 12 species were identified, belonging to three Orders: Characiformes, Perciformes and Gymnotiformes and a total of 639 individuals of benthic macroinvertebrates were identified, with 12 species distributed in 10 Families and four Orders: Decapoda, Coleoptera, Hemiptera and Odonata.
