Maturação e qualidade fisiológica de sementes de sacha-inchi (Plukenetia Volubilis L.)

Resumo

The culture of sacha-inchi, despite its low economic relevance, can become an important source of income for Amazonian producers, as it has good potential as a source of raw material for the most diverse products, especially in the pharmaceutical area, as it has oil rich in lipids. with a high content of omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids, proven to be beneficial for the cardio-vascular system. The study of physiological maturation of seeds is essential for the production of high quality seeds. The present work was carried out with the objective of evaluating the maturation and physiological quality of sacha-inchi seeds under the conditions of Manaus, AM. The experiment was carried out in the experimental field and in the seed laboratory of Embrapa Amazonia Ocidental. For this, fruits of the referred species were collected at different stages of maturation, the experimental design was completely randomized with twelve treatments, which consisted of harvest times. For each season, the seeds were extracted from the fruits and evaluated by the following tests and determinations: water content, germination, emergence, germination speed, emergence speed, color and biometrics of the fruits and seeds. Sacha-inchi seeds reached the ideal harvest point 110 days after floral anthesis, and at that time a high percentage of germination and emergence was verified, thus indicating the ideal harvest point. Late harvests represent losses, mainly due to the occurrence of dehiscence of the fruit and release of seeds to the environment.
