Resumo

Indigenous school education was led by a system aimed at the extinction of indigenous culture and its language, seeking to integrate indigenous peoples into national western society. As a form of resistance to the extinction of their Brazilian culture, indigenous peoples fought for their rights, land, health, and, specifically education. This study brings a reflection about Ticuna indigenous education at Ebenezer School. The main objective of this study was to contextualize the teaching practices of the Ebenezer indigenous municipal school in Benjamin Constant, Alto Solimões - AM. Based on a hypothesis that school has a very strong role in carrying out the transmission of culture, but within a logic of state homogenization especially in the cases of indigenous schools, aiding in the depredation of a differentiated school in the name of a presumed National culture. The data collected allows us to point out that the Ticuna education process has undergone significant advances in their curriculum guidelines, but there are obstacles that must be overcome so there is really a school education that meets the prospect of Ticuna people.
