A economia das pequenas propriedades rurais na várzea: o uso de recursos naturais na composição da renda monetária

Abstract

The economic activities in the Amazon region have strong dependence on the environment in which they find themselves, especially those related to family farming, fishing and extraction plant. Thus studies involving Amazon incomes in rural areas are needed, despite the strong barrier brought about by lack of financial accounting marketing of production, beyond the terms of trade of goods. This study aimed to characterization and analysis of income components, as well as activities production of the inhabitants of these communities. The study was conducted in nine riverside communities studied as PIATAM, located in Rio Solimões, State of Amazonas. In order to estimate the income method was used Multiple linear regression including explanatory variables such as economic, social, demographic and environmental, as well as social and economic characteristics these residents. Among the activities during the day, four earned Featured: agriculture, student activities, household chores and fishing, they are considered important by the community. About 65% of residents aged 10 and older report having some income, and 71.9% of residents respondents were, at most, to a minimum monthly salary at the time of survey. With regard to the calibrated models can conclude that the variables chosen were significant rejecting the null hypothesis that they do not contribute the formation of income.
