Análise da evolução da frota de veículos e motoristas habilitados do Estado do Amazonas no período de 2012 à 2017

Resumo

In recent years, there has been a high growth in the rate of motorization in Brazil and, consequently, in the State of Amazonas. In addition to other factors, this increase is linked to accelerated urbanization, considering that this process has relocated people to increasingly distant places, requiring transport to facilitate their mobility. The objective of the research was to analyze the growth of the vehicle fleet, the total number of licensed drivers, the performance of the State Department of Transit of Amazonas - DETRAN-AM and the impacts of the municipalization of traffic in the reduction of deaths caused by Land Transport Accidents - ATT in Amazonas, from 2012 to 2017. The research used primary and secondary data. For the primary data, we went to the field in the municipalities of Tabatinga, Benjamin Constant, Tefé, Barcelos, Parintins and Maués, in order to verify if the municipalization interfered in the behavior of traffic users regarding the use of helmets and the license plate of vehicles in circulation. Secondary data were obtained from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics - IBGE, National Traffic Department - DENATRAN, DETRAN-AM, and Mortality Information System - SIM. For the collection of field data, statistical counters were used with the information being transcribed to a spreadsheet every hour. All data were entered into an electronic spreadsheet and maps were generated through the Geographical Information System – GIS, in addition to tables and graphs. The results revealed that the total number of qualified people grew at a pace proportional to the vehicle fleet, with no mismatch between them. They also showed that in municipalities included in the National Traffic System – SNT (municipalization of traffic) there is greater adherence to the use of helmets and a higher rate of license plates in the municipality; reduction in the percentage of motorcycles circulating without plates, but without positive impacts regarding the generation of deaths caused by RTI. The work's conclusions point to the need for further studies.
