Resumo
The research Visual Literacy, a Fruition about the Amazonian Culture: a teaching experience in the state school — CETI Professor Manuel Vicente Ferreira Lima, located in the city of Coari/AM. It presents an analysis of students and their consumption of electronic/digital images. In order to understand this process, which is evident in the sociocultural context of the CETI State School, we will highlight the relationship, based on Plaza and Tavares' theory – in which poetics relates to digital images involving the sender and receiver. Also on the prism of Beiguelma's theory, on the status of the image in the contemporary world and its relationship with the surveillance regime and how to relate visual literacy, the Amazonian culture and the reality where students live. The research aims to understand the relationship between visual literacy, Amazonian culture and the reality of students who attend school. To achieve the objectives, semi-open interaction and observation were carried out with the students, in order to identify how they see the Amazonian culture through a fruitful look and how it influences their consumption of electronic/digital images. The results showed that the students, for the most part, do not recognize the sociocultural importance of Coari because in their lives they kept in touch with the images that can affect the cognitive process. From this, it was possible to infer that visual literacy is fundamental for the educational environment, some problems of cultural recognition of students are directly related to their consumption of images, as they spend a lot of time in front of images in cyberspace. The research methodology is guided by a case study with a qualitative approach, in which observations and sessions were carried out. As a result, it was concluded that the audiovisual culture influences the culture of Coari and how much visual literacy significantly influences the teaching and learning of the students of the State School CETI, as they develop skills and competences of image consumption in a significant way.
