Em nome do Pai, do Filho e do Espírito Santo: as manifestações da Santíssima Trindade em Manaus

Abstract

Held since 1986 in Manaus, the festivities of the Holy Trinity based the development for this dissertation, using a qualitative and ethnographic research approach, with the general objective of describing and analyzing the meaning of the religious manifestations of the Holy Trinity in the city, considering the cultural experience of the adherents of this cult. The proposal for discussion in the three chapters of the dissertation contemplated the approach of popular Catholicism and the process of survival when dealing with the relationship of the manifestations of the Holy Trinity in the urban environment, and presented historical digression and the cultural and religious relationship with the divine holy spirit, as well as the process of Portuguese colonization in the Amazon, involving the Azoreans, in addition to the insertion of this cultural manifestation in the urban life of Manaus.
