Coocorrências em adolescentes com provável Transtorno do Desenvolvimento da Coordenação

Abstract

Co-occurrences of developmental disorders in adolescents with probable Development Coordination Disorder are possible. Knowing these disorders during adolescence allows that, through appropriate interventions, the damage to school performance is minimized. In this study, we aim to characterize the co-occurrences of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in adolescents with probable Development Coordination Disorder (pDCD). This is a characterization research, with a cross-sectional design and quantitative approach. Participants were 18 adolescents previously identified with pTDC, with a mean age of 14 years, 7 boys and 11 girls. Fifteen guardians and five teachers also participated. The collection of information occurred in five schools of the state school system of the municipality of Manaus / Amazonas. For data collection, we used the Swanson, Nolan and Pelham-IV (SNAP-IV) questionnaire, which was answered by the guardians and teachers. The results indicated the co-occurrence of ADHD characteristics in three adolescents (17%); a girl with the co-occurrence of the characteristics of inattention; a girl with the co-occurrence of the characteristics of hyperactivity/impulsivity; and a boy with the co-occurrence of ADHD characteristics. We conclude that the co-occurrence of developmental disorders in adolescents with pDCD is present in the Amazon context, especially disorders with characteristics of inattention, hyperactivity/impulsivity and ADHD in adolescents with pDCD. Thus, it is necessary to advance in studies addressing this theme, mainly due to the bias of inclusive education, due to the educational needs presented in each of the disorders, and so that these students can obtain their right of access, their participation and their full educational development.
