Avaliação do nível de atividade física e perfil nutricional de idosos do Projeto Idoso Feliz Participa Sempre

Resumo

Based on the epidemiological transition process that has occurred in recent decades, there has been a change in the age pyramid, with an increase in the elderly population. The morphological and functional changes attributed to the aging process can lead to variations in the nutritional status of the elderly. The practice of physical activity (PA) has been shown to be a protective and preventive factor for a better quality of life (QoL) for this population. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the relationship between the level of physical activity (PA) and the Nutritional Profile of elderly participants in the "Elderly Happy Always Participating" Project (PIFPS) at Feff/UFAM. Participants answered 24-hour recall questionnaires and the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (short version). This research was characterized as descriptive field research with a cross-sectional correlational design. A total of 34 elderly individuals participated in this study, with the majority being female, accounting for 82.4% of the participants. The population studied had low levels of fiber, while fat and carbohydrates had high levels. However, there were some participants who did not have the minimum amount of nutrients per day
