Resumo

The thesis “Linguistic policies in bilingual education: an ecolinguistic reflection of languages in contact in school territory in Alto Solimões” is a research on the linguistic policies that guide Portuguese-Ticuna bilingual teaching in indigenous schools in Betânia. The objective is to understand how bilingual education is being organized in the Vila Betânia indigenous community, analyzing the language policies adopted in the bilingual/intercultural curriculum and the discourses of indigenous education professionals. This is a qualitative research based on theoretical construction with a multidisciplinary character and the epistemological basis came from Comprehensive Sociology and Applied Linguistics. Data collection was done through interviews, application of questionnaires and field diary. The result showed that there are contradictions regarding the implementation of bilingual education in Betânia, caused by the different degrees of bilinguality in Portuguese, since they feel difficulties not only in communicating in Portuguese, but also in teaching it through textbooks. from SEMED. In addition, few teachers have a degree in language and most do not have a degree to teach languages. Therefore, the contradiction present in bilingual teaching in schools in Betânia is due to the didactic-pedagogical inadequacy that treats Portuguese as a first language and Ticuna as a second language, since the method used in both subjects is that of translating from one language to another. other.
