Colhendo memórias, tecendo histórias: trajetória de mulheres e os mundos do trabalho no baixo Amazonas (1930-1990)

Resumo

This research had as object the study of the life trajectory of women and the relations with the Worlds of Work of the jute fiber in the Lower Amazon. In order to listen and reflect on their stories, discussions were held in the field of Oral History based on reports of Life Stories. Reports of memories and stories of six women who had contact with jute work in the field and in industries were collected. The meaning of the word work for this research was approached as a manual force and an activity that requires human effort to complete something, it is intended to propose a discussion about the universe of female work in the jute production process both in the fields and in the industries in the Lower Lowlands. Amazonas, which were mentioned by the women interviewed in the research. The geographic location was delimited from the narrators' reports, regions close to the river, or territories of the Amazon floodplain. If, in the methodological point of view, I worked with Oral History, inspired by Alessandro Portelli, my theoretical perspective was to recover a history seen from the Bottom Up, studying the experience and protagonism of these women a fundamental theoretical movement. For this, I dialogued with English Social History, especially with Edward Thompson and in the concepts discussed in Women's History with Michelle Perrot.
