Eu rio, ele ri, nós rimos: e na alegria a possibilidade de enfrentar a internação sob viés da fenomenologia

Abstract

Hospital admission is one of the most difficult moments for all those who, due to the nosological condition presented, need more specific care carried out in the hospital environment. The SUS National Policy for Humanization advocates, in its assumptions, the urgency to modify the way the patient is followed to practice humanization in spaces, routines, and atmospheres. In this aspect, the proposal of the Acadêmicos da Alegria arises: developing playful activities with inpatients in various hospital institutions. One of the questions that arose was how this activity is perceived by these people. Qualitative research was used based on the phenomenological research method in psychology, the field diary, and the phenomenological interview. The study went into the field after prior approval by the Research Ethics Committee. The participants were six people on hemodialysis treatment who received a visit from Acadêmicos da Alegria in Manaus, AM. The location of the interviews was in a Reference Hospital for Hemodialysis, located in the South-central area of the city. The collection of material followed World Health Organization guidelines to avoid the transmissibility of COVID-19. The analysis of the collected data followed the steps of the phenomenological research method recommended by Amedeo Giorgi, resulting in three categories: 1. It is in this flesh that I feel; look over there; the being-a-clown is passing by; 2. There are clowns; there is joy; 3. The spectator and the spectacle; I laugh; and I perceive laughter. Despite the vulnerabilities of the treatment, patients found possibilities for coping during and after hemodialysis when they received a visit from Acadêmicos da Alegria. It is necessary to implement public policies to create humanized environments with projects that work on this theme, such as the Acadêmicos da Alegria.
