Aspectos dialetais do médio Amazonas: um estudo sobre o léxico

Abstract

This research is of a quantitative nature and is based on the theoretical-methodological principles of Pluridimensional Dialectology (THUN, 1998), in the works of CRUZ (2004), MARGOTTI (2004), AZEVEDO (2013) and Variationist Sociolinguistics (LABOV, 2008). The general objective is to map the phenomenon of linguistic variation, in its lexical aspect, in Portuguese spoken in the Middle Amazon, more precisely in Itacoatiara and Silves (AM). The theorization on lexicon considers the notes of Pottier (1978), of Biderman (1998, 2001), Oliveira and Isquerdo (2001). In addition, conceptions of the norm will be briefly discussed, based on Coseriu (1973) and the statistical treatment performed by Cristianini (2007). The research was carried out in loco and was given through the application of a Semantic-Lexical Questionnaire (QSL) containing 100 questions distributed in 10 semantic fields. After transcription, the responses were stored in a SGVClin software database and then the lexical linguistic charts were generated. The collected data were compared with the works of Corrêa (1980), Cruz (2004), Campos (2005), Azevedo (2013) and Maia (2018). The results point to the categorical use in the two municipalities of some variants and the substitution of regional variants for other innovative ones.
