Resumo

Hydrothermal minerals, such as silicates, sulfides, oxides and carbonates, occur in paleoproterozoic rocks of Água Branca and Mapuera suits and Iricoumé Group, wich outcrop in the southwestern portion of Presidente Figueiredo city, northeast of the Amazonas State. The studied acid to intermediate metagranitoids and metavolcanic rocks studied, located in the south portion of the Uatumã-Anauá Domain, central portion of the Tapajós-Parima Province (Amazonian Craton), are, locally, metamorphosed and deformed by an unknown tectonothermal event. This study presents field, petrography, SEM, XRD and XRF data that show that these rocks were affected by sodium-potassic and propylitic hydrothermal alteration processes. The sodium-potassic alteration, commonly observed in the metasyenogranits of Mapuera Suit and basic metavolcanic rocks associated, generated quartz, K-feldspar, albite, magnetite, muscovite, garnets, hematite, sericite, sphalerite, biotite, chalcopyrite and galena. More regionally occur the propylitic alteration, which is characterized by the formation of epidote, chlorite, quartz, pyrite, calcite, actinolite, caolinite, ilmenite, pirolusite in pervasive style in metavolcanic rocks of the Iricoumé Group and in fissural style in rocks of all units. The metasyenogranitic body São Gabriel of the Mapuera Suit and metamafic associated dykes host the largest amount and variety of sulfides, occurring mainly in veins and pockets. Deformational zones of this body imposed structural control over the migration of sodiumpotassic fluids, while metamafic dykes were important for the precipitation of sulfides. In the metariolites of the Iricoumé Group is notorious the presence of stockworks of quartz±epidote±chlorite and kaolinite±botite veins. The studied rocks do not contain enough ore minerals, either magmatic or metamorphic in origin, to have formed the amount of sulfides seen in them. However, they are part of alteration halos that demonstrate that the source(s) of the hydrothermal fluid(s) might be located in the center of the studied area. Thus, it is suggested that the source(s) of these metals may be related to unknown deep magmas.
