Resumo
The research aimed to analyze the riverside work (produced in land, water and forest) and its educational principle and the convergences and contradictions with the educational practices of the school in the São Miguel community. The study was carried out in the riverside community of São Miguel in the municipality of Benjamin Constant located in the Mesoregion of Alto Solimões-AM and involved residents (children, teenagers, adults and elderly) involved in the productive activities (agriculture, fishing and plant extraction) of the community, the community school teachers and the pedagogical team of the Municipal Department of Education. To reach the objective of the investigation, a field research was developed from the historical-dialectical materialism and techniques: bibliographic survey, participant observation, semi-structured interview and document analysis. Discussions and analyzes were based on studies by Marx, Engels, Gramsci, Lukács, Pistrak, among other theorists of Marxist sociology. The result of the study was that work in the community, carried out on land, in water and in the forest, is seen as a way of maintaining the family/social collective and as an educational principle that has its own pedagogy, enabling the active transmission-assimilation of knowledge , attitudes and practices. However, the study also showed that work and its educational principle are denied in the curriculum and educational practice of Escola São Miguel. Therefore, the research made it possible to understand the human formation of Amazonian riverine subjects, coming from the community and school spaces, demonstrating that productive work is configured as an educational principle, even in the face of the challenges imposed by the exclusionary capitalism that guides the bases of educational policies and encourages the school to develop educational practices disconnected from the reality of the community.
