Estudo de lesões experimentais sequenciais produzidas por ferrão de raias da espécie Potamotrygon orbignyi em reto femural de coelhos

Abstract

This paper describes a sequence of lesions produced with stigray Potamotrygon orbignyi in femural retus muscle of rabbits. The lesions were studied in chronological order. The macro and microcopic aspects of the lesions are described in relation with the poisons mentioneted in the literature.There are caracteristic aspect in the lesions. The most proeminent of which is the early eosinophil infiltrate. The inflamatory reation is mantained through the realese of citokines by these eosinophils and NK 1.1 T lymphocites in a positive feedback loop with the eosinophil. The author proposes a hypothesis on the origin of the histopathological changes and suggest studies on the manegement.
