Da Cerejeira à Sumaúma: a gênese do haicai no Amazonas a partir de Versos dos verdes anos, de Samuel Benchimol

Abstract

The present research – with a qualitative and bibliographical approach – aims to analyze the haiku written by Samuel Benchimol in the early 40s and contextualize the Amazonian literary scene, being developed in three stages: the first corresponds to a bibliographic survey on the historiographical trajectory of haiku from Japan, via France, to its arrival in Brazil; the second stage consists of the historical and social reconstruction of the author's figuration in relation to Amazonian society and culture, highlighting the ethnic and cultural traits of his formation and literary production; finally, the third stage of the research analyzes in details the haiku written by Samuel Benchimol, contained in his work Versos dos Verdes Anos, taking into account the relations between literature and society, according to the Genetic Criticism, with emphasis on the work Literatura dos Escritores, written by Louis Hay, finding in these relationships the ontological reason of the haiku produced by Samuel Benchimol and its space in the Amazon’s haikuist literary genesis.
