Abstract

The paper intends to discuss the dramatic dance of Pastorinhas of Manaus. To analyze the cultural importance that Pastorinhas had for the society manauara and if they are still constituted in an important popular manifestation for the city, they allows to notice us as the expansion modernizadora of the great cities influences the traditional popular cultures. In that conception, we will dialogue with the youths, fundamental for the dramatic dance of Pastorinhas, for us to understand like them link with the traditions of the past. We approach, also, the laughter and the festival humor, characteristic of the Shepherdesses party.
