Resumo
This article deals with the use of comics in teaching visual arts to 6th grade students. year of elementary school. Thus, we sought to apply the language of comics in Art classes, addressing the Amazonian legends. In this way, it tried to answer: how can comics be worked within the Art curriculum component, as a way of (re)telling the Amazonian legends? The importance of the research resided in relating visual knowledge, the creative processes in comics and the content of Amazonian legends, in addition to contributing to the area of Visual Arts Teaching, as well as to my own teaching practice, in addition to possible contributions to other studies in arts teaching, socialization in academic and scientific events, in arts journals and related areas and for the artistic and cultural education of students. The A/R/Tographic methodology (DIAS and IRWIN, 2013) was used, which required the application of an activity. For the development of the students' creative processes, Sandra Rey's approach (2002) was applied on the dimensions of creation, namely: the abstract dimension, the practical dimension and the dimension of the work in process. As methodological procedures, exploratory research was applied, for the construction of the state of the art and to better understand the object of study, and bibliographical research, for the foundation of theoretical discussions. As a result of this study, a diagram was created exemplifying the didactic flow of using comics in visual arts teaching.
