Resumo

The purpose of this study was to identify the problems hindering the growth of production and export of "brown-the-world" in the state of Amazonas. For the development of this work, has taken up a scheme based methodology is a conceptual relationship on the supply side. Thus, in a first moment, there was a selection of bibliographical references converging with the topic, as well as lifting of relevant statistical data on production and export of brown in Brazil and the Amazon. The results show that the problem in the production and marketing of "brown-the-world" in the Amazon lies mainly on the low pay of the workforce in comparison with other economic activities in the rural sector more profitable. The low pay is due to low productivity of the workforce because there is no rational planting, and the collection made in faraway native forests thus discouranging the families remain in the activity. Another factor is the low quality of the product by the lack of adoption of good management practices, causing restrictions on the export barriers because of Amazon plant health. It was concluded that production and export of "brown-the-world" were marginalized in the development process in light of the lack of public policies to the development of forestry production, with introduction of new production technologies and management.
