Qualidade da assistência de enfermagem na clínica cirúrgica de um hospital universitário de referência: percepções e implicações

Abstract

Institutions must act in dynamic search of implementing a quality management system as a challenge to consolidation of good practice. This is a descriptive - analytical study, the research-action type, with quantitative and qualitative approach, which sought to understand the perception of the quality management process in nursing care in the surgical clinic of a university hospital referral in the city Belém / Pará. Focus groups 3-5 people, on average, successfully addressing 38 professional nursing team, with 31 mid-level and 7 nurses were conducted. The results were shown in two steps. In the first characterization of the nursing team, with the objective of learning possibilities for bias in compliance / rejection of new cases was performed. In the second stage, were listed three categories of content analysis - Perception of the role of nursing in the quality process, Perception of the implications of a quality process for nursing staff and Conduct team Factors x performance and results - which could - contextualize the team records and hence know their understanding of a process indicator measurement. The team exposed some gaps driving (interdisciplinary conflicts, insecurity and conflict relations ) that may interfere with the proper performance of the service, but demonstrated interest and motivation to learn new processes, aimed at improving the care provided in unit aggregated professional growth. During the study, at times the structure of relationships in the team suggests "potential problem" because personal interpretation of driving oscillations have a direct negative impact on the enhancement and improvement of processes. Furthermore, the study stressed that the leadership skills, technical and managerial represent the foundation for the smooth running of the service and process optimization.
