Resumo
The present work, carried out in public education institutions, during breaking classes, in the Arts discipline, aims to develop a methodology for teaching breaking motor gestures through the experiences of classes with students in the municipality of Maués-AM. For this, three fundamentals of breaking were selected (top rock, foot-work and freeze). These movements were the focus of learning during classroom practices. The experience during the application of the methods was successful when considering the difficulties of time, lack of material and suitable place for teaching dance. Even with all these questions, the results were positive when looking at the learning of movements, noting that many of the students assimilated them at the basic and intermediate level in a short time and in a small number of classes. It is worth mentioning the great lack of methodologies for teaching breaking that, even though it is an art/culture and dance with a lot of acceptance among young people in high school, it still comes up against the lack of training of teachers who, for the most part, do not study this subject during graduation, but find this demand during teaching work in regular education. To fill this gap, the creation of breaking teaching methods was fundamental, dividing classes into theoretical and practical, applied in a two-month period, which, in the current curriculum, consists of 8 classes. In theoretical classes, the focus was on learning the history of hip-hop and fundamentals of breaking; in practical classes, teaching techniques such as reproduction/repetition and tools such as the numeric circle were used to encourage creativity. All classes had a focus and method applied, thus finding a way for teaching and learning that was effective even with the differences and reality of each school.
