Resumo
This dissertation, which is the result of studies in the Master's degree course in Education, was
entitled: The policy of continuing education for teachers: a look at the MedioTec Program
SEDUC-AM/CETAM in the Agroecology/Field Education course. The objectives of the
research were: General - To analyze the policy of continued formation of teachers: a look at the
MedioTec Program SEDUC-AM/CETAM in the course of Agroecology/Field Education,
operationalized through three specific objectives: 1) Study the theoretical support of the
categories: Continuing teacher training, Concomitant Technical High School and Field
Education/Agroecology; 2) Examine the legal bases of continuing teacher training in the
MedioTec Program and 3) Identify the Amazonian challenges faced in the implementation of
the Agroecology course of the MedioTec Program and its relation to Field Education. The
research methodology was carried out in the first moment with bibliographical research; in the
second moment with documental research; and afterwards with field research, especially in
CETAM, in the sector that deals with the Program, in SEDUC and in a school in the city of
Iranduba. The data analysis was based on the dialectic method, having as sources of empirical
information semi-structured interviews, whose operationalization took place through the Nvivo
software. And, as a technique for data analysis, we used the Textual Speech Analysis. The
research included five subjects who worked in MedioTec, in the Agroecology course, at the
Iranduba/AM school. In view of the study, we noticed that a policy occurs in five contexts, of
which we will address three: the contexts of influence and production, in the MedioTec policy,
in which there is no evidence of concern with the continuing education of teachers; and the
context of practice, in which we observed the concern with the subjects in front of the teaching
and learning process - a moment that occurred exactly during two training days. We perceive
MedioTec as a reproducer of capitalist relations, but through two lenses: as a contribution to
the children of workers who enter the job market and as a filter for the continuity of studies at
a higher level, because the program is not based on a dual and assistentialist training. Regarding
the challenges that were found out in the implementation of MedioTec, some of them are:
school infrastructure, transportation, student evasion, and the selection of the policy's target
audience.
