Resumo
It is intended with this study, to understand the process of formation / processing
sites in a lowland complex Solimões-Amazonas, considering the main
management practices and their impact on the organization of production of small
farmers who inhabit the Coast Fishery, municipality of Manacapuru-AM. In these
ancient sites in the past dominated large plantations and kids that dominated the
landscape, but are now being enriched by fruit species, as cupuaçu, coconut,
banana, acaí, jambo, lemon, cashew, soursop and many other species of
economic value and nutritious. Even with the decline of the Amazon rubber boom,
and consequently the loss of interest in the exploitation of rubber trees and cocoa
trees, the ancient sites (groves) are still found in several properties of the Fishery
Coast, even if mixed with other species of trees and fruit adapted to environmental
conditions in the Amazon region. Despite the rubber and cocoa trees have lost
their importance from the point of view, remain, because of the emotional bond that
residents have with this environment, since many of them, especially older ones,
were responsible for planting. However, residents and newer immigrants, without
this bond of affection, began the process of clearing. The sites of the lower
Solimões River live between disruption and adaptation. In the past, rubber and
cocoa, today, mainly cupuaçu. Thus, we will reflect on the changes that are
occurring at these sites, since the rubber crisis and the rise of other fruit species.
