Aspectos sociais do feminicídio íntimo em Manaus: um estudo sobre a violência doméstica e seu desfecho com o assassinato de mulheres

Abstract

This study aims to establish an analytical approach to the growth of domestic violence in Brazilian society, giving special emphasis to cases of intimate femicide in Manaus. It is a theme anchored in the theme of gender that establishes a dialogue with interdisciplinary knowledge, based on social sciences and social work. Femicide is a crime that exposes the sexist wound, being, therefore, a crime of hate, contempt and discrimination against women, based on roles socially constructed by patriarchy. Intimate femicide is characterized by not being an isolated fact in the victims' lives, but by being the end of a history of verbal and physical abuse with intense manifestations of violence and deprivation that women are subjected to by those who kill them, mostly, companions and affectionate partners. This research took the orientation of qualitative approaches without excluding quantitative aspects. Due to the pandemic event, we chose to carry out a survey with public data and information, through a statistical survey of the number of femicides that occurred in 2019 available on the official website of the Public Security Department of the State of Amazonas (SSP/AM ) and the number of cases generated on the website of the Research Department of the National Council of Justice (CNJ). For qualitative information, we carried out a hemerographic survey, an investigation carried out through a source of information from newspapers, about the cases that occurred and reports from relatives and relatives of the victims, professionals from the women's care network and representatives of social movements. The research revealed the occurrence of 09 femicides in 2019, in addition to deadlocks and weaknesses in the support network for women in situations of violence that affect cases of femicide, as well as highlighting the significant role that women's movements play in the struggle for the realization of women's rights and justice for the crimes committed in this configuration.
