Proposta de aprimoramento do processo de aquisição de acervo bibliográfico para o Sistema de Bibliotecas da UFAM: um estudo de caso

Abstract

This research analyzes the process of formation and acquisition of the bibliographic collection of the System of Libraries (SISTEBIB) of UFAM. The objective was to propose a model that would serve as a standardization instrument, with a view to guaranteeing efficiency in acquisitions in order to update and expand the bibliographic collection of SISTEBIB, in order to meet the main purpose of UFAM. The research was chosen through a case study, analyzing the reality of UFAM's SISTEBIB acquisitions. By means of the investigation of the last bidding processes carried out, it was found that the bidding modality used of "lowest price per item", listing each title individually, represented the restriction sought. So, in the search for continuous improvement of the Institution's performance, the TOC reasoning process tools act on the constraint, helping to understand complex problems. It was then suggested that UFAM adopt a bidding process of the “greater discount” type on the publishers' table, as a way of solving the problem.
