Fronteira da vida: o tradicional e o moderno no Cacau-Pirera/Iranduba-AM

Abstract

The present dissertation assumes the purpose of verifying the cultural society transformations that are happening in the Cacau Pirêra District, in the municipal of Iranduba /Amazonas, in your re-significance aspects in the border culture field. Located nearest of Manaus city, the Cacau Pirêra should not just be understood as a located geographical border between the rural and the urban. It should be understood, above all, as a cultural border, where traditional and modern habits are interlaced and they overflow in the residents' of this place life. This is the debate joined in this research, that s assumed the contribution of the approaches qualitative, without excluding the quantitative aspects. The field work was accomplished through techniques of semi-structured interviews and forms containing open and closed questions, added to the ethnography and the notebook field. Among the multiples revealed aspects, the research verified that, in the last years, there were strong impacts of the urbanity in the lifestyle of Cacau Pirêra's traditional people. Those impacts reach several aspects of the life: the religiosity, the habits, the values, the neighborhood relationships and, especially, the work forms. In the Cacau Pirêra, it s expressive the amount of families that stopped practicing traditional activities for they be dedicated to more modern occupations. To the conclusion mode, it can be said that the impacts of the civic lifestyle on the traditional lifestyle end for determining a situation of tame the lifestyle in the Cacau Pirêra District.
