Resumo

The migratory movement directed to Rondônia in the 1970s took to that state populations of all Brazilian regions, but in greater numbers those from the states of the south center of the country and that were settling in the areas covered by the colonization projects Implanted and administered by the National Institute of Colonization and Agrarian Reform - INCRA. Among the population included in the processes of compulsory migration that have moved to the Amazon in search of land are the descendants of Slavs (Polish and Ukrainian), during the last three decades this group of colonists has been contributing to the production of social-geographical space in the State Of Rondônia and more specifically of the region known as Forest Zone from Rondonia formed by the union of seven towns, among them Rolim de Moura, Novo Horizonte do Oeste, Nova Brasilândia do Oeste that covers the geographic cut of this research. Under the context of the reoccupation of the land, the Forest Zone of Rondonia can be understood as a singular face of the Amazon where the conceptions of the traditional peasant world still naturally reveal themselves to both the rural and the urban dwellers. Although they have access to the globalized world, these peculiarities of the local population make it a microcosm of the southern peasant universe, they have some cultural manifestations which are already absent in the great cities of the South. This research analyzed a portion of the local population that still shows traces of their cultures, that way this study aimed to understand the lifestyle of the Slavic descendants of Parana, identifying the strong presence of the Slavic peasant habitus in its manifestations of identity. In order to do so, it was necessary to investigate the processes of deterritorialization and reterritoliralization that involved its migratory trajectories, the construction of the new territory based on the peasant and Slavic customs and the (re) construction of its regional identity.
