Resumo
The problem of sexual harassment is social and involves all individuals in a society, because it affects the daily lives of those who need public transport as a means of locomotion. It is an everyday fact of the collective insecurity of women who need transport to fulfill their work commitments and other activities of their responsibility. The study of recorded facts of harassment in the relevant institutions will also be directed to one of the most used means of transport in the world, “the public transport” in urban chaos. Within this context, which encompasses a modality of violence against women experienced daily, curtailing their right to come and go safely, making them a victim of a crime committed in public transport, whether on the way to work, home, college, among others. The female gender is the most affected, as women are more vulnerable to harassment. Research carried out on the same theme shows that the main target is women. However, the reception of these victims ranges from the police station to the care policies, which cover the psychosocial and legal context. Given all the above, this work seeks to understand the phenomena and social facts of sexual harassment on the specificity of the female gender. For this, the method of approach of the research was qualitative, with the elaboration of a survey form using Google Forms applied in two distinct groups, the professionals of the public policy of sheltering the victims of domestic violence, family violence and sexual harassment at SAPEM I and the users of the public transport of the Integration Terminal 2 (T2). The epistemic subjects surveyed were a total of 17 people among SAPEM professionals and the female passengers of the collective. The study revealed that sexual harassment is a timeless phenomenon in public transport, and this crime can happen at any time, especially with the overcrowding of buses, due to peak hours and consequently few transports circulating at these times. Furthermore, men with a sexist culture take the opportunity to commit crime and harass women. In this sense, as the SAPEM professional reported that the man who commits this type of crime has a type of paraphilia. Therefore, the roots of patriarchy prevail in society as a form of violence.
