Letramento em saúde e fatores associados em pessoas com Diabetes Mellitus Tipo 2 de Iranduba, Amazonas: estudo transversal com análise de redes

Resumo

Background: Health literacy is a key factor in the acquisition of knowledge and skills for maintaining the health of a population, making it important to reduce this knowledge gap in the interior of Amazonas in relation to other states in the country. Objective: To analyze the relationship between health literacy levels and sociodemographic, behavioral and health factors in individuals with type 2 diabetes in Iranduba, Brazil, using network analysis to map and visualize these interactions. Methods: This is a cross-sectional observational study conducted with 137 participants between August and September 2024. Data were collected using the Health Literacy Test and the DiAbeTes Education Questionnaire, which assesses diabetes selfmanagement, as well as sociodemographic data. Network analysis was carried out using LASSO regularization. Results: The findings indicate that health literacy is the central variable in the network, showing the highest values of centrality and betweenness, which suggests its fundamental role as a link between the other variables. In addition, both age and health literacy emerged as key determinants in shaping the network, directly influencing the dynamics of interactions among the factors Conclusion: Although this is a pilot study, it highlights the importance of deepening the knowledge of the relationship between health literacy and factors associated with type 2 diabetes in this population.
