Projeto social esportivo: possíveis implicações para o desenvolvimento de habilidades motoras e sociais de crianças em situação de vulnerabilidade

Resumo

INTRODUCTION: Pedagogically structured sports activities enable participants to acquire new skills and abilities, promoting benefits for the motor, social, affective and cognitive aspects. Thus, programs aimed at the integral development of individuals are essentially important for their training. Such activities take place through Social Sports Projects, which occur, above all, in favor of the social inclusion of individuals in a situation of social vulnerability. OBJECTIVE: The objective of the present study was to describe whether a social sport project has implications for the performance of motors and socials skills of children in vulnerable situations. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Eighteen children from 6 to 12 years old of both sexes participated, 6 girls and 14 boys from a Social Sport Project and from a State School in the city of Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil. To assess the motor aspect, the KTK (Körperkoordination Test Für Kinder) was used, which measures the performance of motor tasks and, to assess the social aspect, the SSRS (Social Skills Rating System) was used to assess social skills. The instruments were applied in the school of the participants where the project takes place, following the test protocols, with a team composed of four physical education professionals and a psychology. RESULTS: When comparing the performance between the groups, no significant differences were observed, both in motor tasks and general motor quotient, as well as in social skills and general score. CONCLUSION: It was possible to observe that the sports practice offered in the social project had no effect on the motor and social skills of the participating children when compared to those who do not participate.
