Cantos e Danças Indígenas: a ressignificação do conhecimento tradicional da comunidade Boca da Mata no processo das transformações contemporâneas

Abstract

This work assumes the purpose of notice in which direction the ressignification of the indigenous songs and dances in front of the transformation process, occurred in recent times, referring to the new forms of identity reconfiguration of the Macuxi people who lives in the community Boca da Mata in Roraima. The field work performed by young people, adults, leaders and the elders Macuxi who live in the community follow the guidance of qualitative approaches without deleting the quantitative aspects, under the techniques of forms containing open and closed questions, and interviews of the semi-structured type. Among the many aspects found it was clear the fact that the songs and the dances, Macuxi currently, by process of change. These changes are being accelerated with faster especially after the entry of evangelical religions in the community, added to new values passed on by the school and the relationship that the residents of Boca da Mata established with the urban centre, the capital of Boa Vista. We can say, by way of conclusion, that the songs and dances survive with great difficulty in the community Boca da Mata. To strengthen them was created a dance group that seeks to give continuity to the indigenous songs and dances
