Os sinais-nomes na perspectiva da análise do discurso

Resumo

This study aims to analyze the discourse present in the construction of name signs in a historical, cultural and linguistic perspective of members of the deaf community of Goiânia and Manaus. This research is based on the theoretical perspective of Discourse Analysis, initiated by Michel Pêcheux in 1960 and by other important authors such as Foucault (1999; 2008; 2014; 2018), Orlandi (1986, 1994, 1996, 2004) and Freire (2014); in the area of Onomastic, such as the work of Dick (1980), on toponymic taxonomy in general; Brito's (2003) work on proper names; the work of Souza Júnior (2012), specifically in the Brazilian Sign Language; and the pioneering work of Barros (2018) in Brazil, which presents a proposal of categorization of name-signs based on an anthroponomic taxonomy in Sign Languages. The speeches of deaf teachers, listeners, interpreters, and children of deaf adults (CODAS) are analyzed, describing the importance of having a different look at the process of construction and motivation of the name-sign and its reflexes. Influences and power relations are problematized, especially in the representation issues of each participant in the deaf community. The importance of analyzing the discourses of interaction and belonging of the participant who is part of the deaf community is demonstrated. The theoretical contribution is made in Discourse Analysis and Onomastic, to deepen in the construction and motivation of the name-sign, having as listener, deaf and indigenous cultures. This research was based on the qualitative paradigm.
